Blepharoplasty can rejuvenate puffy, sagging or tired-looking eyes by removing excess fat, skin from the upper and lower eyelids. It may be performed for cosmetic reasons or to improve sight by lifting droopy eyelids out of the patient's field of vision. Blepharoplasty can be combined with BOTOX® treatments to raise the eyebrows or reduce the appearance of wrinkles, crow's feet or dark circles under the eyes.
The doctor also removes skin from beneath the eyebrow when there is excess sub-brow skin. The doctor’s own technique consists in removing fat from the inside of the crown lid (under eye) through a very small incision that does not require sutures. He uses CosmoDerm™ to fill in depressions under the lower lid reversing the creepy skin and revising the darkness under the lower eyelid.

One of the most common plastic surgery procedures, rhinoplasty is performed to reshape, reduce or augment a person's nose, remove a hump, narrow nostril width, change the angle between the nose and the mouth, or to correct injury, birth defects, or other problems that affect breathing. Results depend on the patient's nasal bone and cartilage structure, facial shape, skin thickness and age (teenagers should have had their growth spurt). Insurance may cover rhinoplasty if it is done for reconstructive or medical reasons, but likely not for cosmetic purposes.
Rhinoplasty is usually an outpatient procedure performed under either local or general anesthesia and lasts one to two hours unless more extensive work needs to be done.
Surgeons use one of the two techniques: the incision is either made within the nostrils, thus hiding scars after surgery, or across the columella (the vertical strip of tissue separating the nostrils) in an "open" procedure, where scars are small and hidden on the underside of the base. In both procedures the skin is lifted, the bone and cartilage sculpted, and the skin replaced and stitched closed. Only an external approach but if necessary uses a rethi or trancolumnicy incision to correct a very complex revision Rhinoplasty. Dr. Takowsky has over 27 years experience in Rhinoplasty.

Buccal fat extraction surgery removes excess fat from the cheeks to produce a more contoured and refined appearance. If you purse your lips to whistle or when you see someone "uck" on a cigarette you will notice a chiseled, more hollow look. It is also a procedure that is often sought to remedy chipmunk cheeks. You may have heard it called cheek reduction surgery, as well.
It is best to take a careful look at your genetics. Did your parents have overly plump faces when they were young? Did this plumpness persist once they reached their 30's and 40's? If so, you may have inherited their excessively full faces. If not, having buccal fat reduction surgery while you are still young may leave you looking gaunt as you get older. This is the doctor's own technique and takes literally 5 minutes to complete on both sides.

In time, gravity, sun exposure, and the stresses of daily life take their toll on our faces: deep creases appear beside the mouth, the jaw line slackens, and folds and fat deposits appear on the neck. Facelifts counteract these problems by removing fat and tightening skin and muscles, giving your face a fresher, youthful look. After surgery, some patients appear 10-15 years younger.
A facelift can be combined with a browlift, eyelid surgery or nose reshaping for more dramatic results, or it can be restricted to the neck (necklift), if the patient's problems center there. Incisions are made in inconspicuous places such as behind the hairline and in natural folds of the face and ears, and scars fade to near invisibility in time. Results of a facelift do not last forever, but in another sense, the effects are permanent; years later, your face will continue to look better than if you had never had the procedure.
The doctor corrects tragus flattening from prior facelifts and can lower the hairline through a reverse horizontal half buried mattress suture with the sutures present in the hair - side of the scalp. Mini facelift going to the top of the tragus and to the bottom of the – of the ear allows for individual customization.

Whether or not we notice it consciously, full cheeks are often a part of how we judge a person's face. Cheek implants can have a major impact on the appearance and self-confidence of patients whose cheeks have thinned or sunken due to age, illness or other causes. Implant sizes and shapes are tailored to each patient's desired appearance.

Chin surgery, also known as mentoplasty, is a surgical procedure to reshape the chin either by enhancement with an implant or reduction surgery on the bone. Many times a plastic surgeon may recommend chin surgery to a patient having nose surgery in order to achieve facial proportion, as the size of the chin may magnify or minimize the perceived size of the nose. Chin surgery helps provide a harmonious balance to your facial features so that you feel better about the way you look.
Plastic surgery of the eyelids and brow can help patients see more clearly as well as look younger and rejuvenated. By removing excess tissue and tightening the skin, cosmetic and functional eyelid surgery and browlifts can not only increase the visual field but also "turn back time" by reducing the appearance of wrinkles, lines and sagging skin that make you look angry or tired. Upper lid lash is a procedure that may be coverable with some insurance companies.
Ear surgery typically serves two functions: setting prominent ears back closer to the head, and reducing the size of large ears. Surgery may also be helpful for "lop ear," "cupped ear" and "shell ear," large or stretched earlobes, and lobes with large creases and wrinkles. Surgeons are also able to construct new ears for patients who are missing them from injury or other causes.
We provide treatments for:
- Deformity of the ear 2nd to trauma
- Conchal deformity
- Protruding ear
- Absence of the antihelix fold top ear
Although surgery for adults is available, the operation is most often performed on children aged four to 14 — ears are almost fully grown by age four, and early surgery can prevent a child from being teased in school.
Otoplasty lasts from two to three hours and may be performed in a hospital, office-based facility or an outpatient surgery center. General anesthesia is recommended for very young patients, while local anesthesia and a sedative are used for older children and adults.
